  • Not much exciting happened on special teams.  There were no trick plays like last weekend against ECU.  There were no great kickoff or punt returns—although Ryan Switzer did have a very nice return that was called back.

Nick Weiler didn’t attempt a field goal, but he made all five of his extra points (which is expected, of course).  Tommy Hibbard had a pretty solid day, with three of his eight punts landing inside Clemson’s twenty yard line.

The only thing that was not to like was a 23-yard punt return by Adam Humphries (and a fifteen yard penalty added to the end for late hit) in the first quarter.  This set up a Clemson field goal, but didn’t really have an effect on the overall outcome of the game.

Overall, it was a pretty average day for UNC on special teams. So, they get the average grade of “C”.
