DEF: Green Bay Packers (24th DEF)
K: Connor Barth (28th K)

The Packers have the great Julius Peppers as their starting outside linebacker, so I decided to make them our starting defense. I could have gone any number of ways with this pick. Robert Quinn plays for St. Louis, Houston has Kareem Martin, Quinton Coples plays for the Jets, etc. etc. I wanted to honor the great Julius Peppers, though, because he is one of the better NFL defensive players from UNC.

With kicker, we have to go with Connor Barth of Tampa Bay. Its getting close to the 10 year anniversary of UNC’s upset over Miami in 2004.Here is a young Barth in 2004 making the big kick that gave UNC the victory over the Hurricanes.

Our bench consists of Brandon Tate, kick returner for Cincinnati, and Brooks Foster (remember him?), who showed up on ESPN’s draft search engine even though he hasn’t played in the league since playing with Miami in 2011.

Overall, we’ve assembled a meh team, but its all Carolina players! I actually drafted the team, so occasionally I will post during the fall with how the team is doing. Here is some of the reaction I got from the ESPN chat…
Here is the final roster!
