Good morning Tar Heel fans! The snow has fallen and now many of us across the state are stuck in the snow. While you wait out the snow or before you head out to work, we have a full slate of content to start off your morning. Check out the homepage for articles about UNC Basketball, Recruiting, and the UNC Georgia Tech basketball game scheduled for Wednesday evening.
To start your morning off right, here are also some links from across the web about Carolina athletics. We have two basketball articles, a Tar Heels in the NBA update, and a tennis article for your Wednesday morning! Make sure you tell them who sent you, and if you have any links you want to be featured on the Morning Heel, shoot our editor an email at bryant.douglass@fansided.com. Here we go!
UNC basketball update: The streak continues
A recap of events from the Clemson game and a look ahead at the Heels tourney chances.
“Although the Tar Heels have been terribly inconsistent this season, they were able to continue one of the most consistent streaks in all of college basketball: Keeping the Clemson Tigers winless in Chapel Hill. That’s right, Clemson has NEVER defeated North Carolina in Chapel Hill, extending the win streak to 57 games.
To be brutally honest, I expected the Heels’ home win streak against Clemson to end last night. Clemson was 13-5 overall and 4-2 in the ACC entering Sunday night’s game, and the Heels were just 1-4 in conference play. While Clemson impressed everyone around the ACC by defeating Duke a few weeks ago, UNC had been equally unimpressive in recent weeks.”

Thought of the week: Keep the ball moving
A good look at the Tar Heels offensive success against Clemson last weekend.
“Why can’t they play like that all the time?
The Tar Heels’ performance on Sunday against Clemson begged the question. And they’ve been both puzzling and frustrating this season trying to find an answer. The obvious difference in play came from North Carolina’s effort.”

A look at the Tar Heels in the NBA from the past week.
“Box Score of the Week-Denver Nuggets point guard Ty Lawson missed out on being named to the Western Conference all-star roster despite playing this season at an all-star level. Lawson continued his strong season Sunday night when he piled up 27 points and six assists to lead the Nuggets to a win over the Sacramento Kings. Denver has been one of the streakiest teams in the NBA this season and is currently just one game over .500. In order for Lawson to make it back to the playoffs, he’ll have to continue to carry the Nuggets.”

Jamie Loeb Named ACC Player of the Week
Congrats to Tar Heel tennis freshman Jamie Loeb!
“North Carolina freshman Jamie Loeb was named ACC Women’s Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday. She posted a perfect 4-0 singles and 3-0 doubles record last week for the third-ranked Tar Heels.
The No. 2-ranked singles player according to the ITA, Loeb helped lead Carolina to a perfect 4-0 record last week in the opening week of dual matches. The Tar Heels swept its first three opponents, 4-0, and took down No. 31 Memphis, 4-1, on Sunday.”
