Opening Statement:

"Well it was a good night for us I think that Jeff’s team didn’t play nearly as well as he wanted them to play they missed some shots that they would normally make.  I thought defensively we were very good in the first half, we were not as a good offensively we turned it over on the break we had three times where we threw it through the guys hands on the break.  Still you have to feel good about the score when you go in at halftime but I want us to take better care of the basketball.  Reggie and P.J. both took shots that we didn’t need to take, we’ve had a lot of games we’ve had more than two of those in the first half.  Reggie and James Michael were big for us tonight and I said last summer that they needed to be big for us every night and they were big for us tonight to say the least."

On P.J. Hairston:

"I really up and down roller coaster emotions with PJ on Sunday night I was very enthused I thought he was going to be able to play he had a smile on his face went through some pretty concentrated shooting drills and didn’t have any headaches.  I think he would have passed the concussion test that night so we set it up Monday night and he woke up about 2 o’clock in the morning throwing up and so it wasn’t anything to do with the concussion he just had a virus, a 24 hour deal, this morning he called and said he felt great and performed very very well on the concussion test so I was going to try and give him no more than 2-3 minutes at a time, I guess he got 12 minutes, it was great to see him back in there."

On holding Wake under 40% shooting in the first half:

"Well I think we did try and challenge the shot, we did try and get out there with C.J. and Travis and it did help us with Travis getting in foul trouble in the first half let’s be realistic about that.  We didn’t hold them to nearly as good a percentage in the second half.  I thought we were going to have a good precision I think we made one of our last eight or nine shots you don’t like to finish the game like that.  We’re trying on the defensive end I think we’re getting better on the defensive end we had some lapses where guys penetrate down the middle it’s some of those things where every coach is going to find things we don’t like."

On the 15-1 run to close the first half:

"We got good shots we really did get good shots we ran a couple set plays and got good shots I think one time they got a wide open shot and missed it and we go to the other end and we’re not quite as open and ours goes in.  I don’t look at the score very open but I look up one time it’s a six or eight point game and there wasn’t much time left in the half and we go on a pretty significant run and that might be what your talking about.  Got some stops on the defensive end ran some breaks that we didn’t throw it away.  One time we had a break and Marcus bounces it to Jackson and it goes right through his hands.  And then we have PJ shooting three FT’s after a foul on the three point attempt he misses the next two we tip it out and get the ball again and miss a wide open three, but I think we did play well there right before the half."

On ten different players scoring in the first half:

"Well I hope that everybody that we put in the game understands that they need to add something positive, it doesn’t have to be scoring  it could be doing it on the defensive end the backboards or whatever.  I’ve always said the best teams have more than one or two guys that can score I think we have a lot of guys that can shoot the ball.  I was happy to see Leslie what did he end up 2-4 he’s been in a little bit of struggle recently to.  Reggie was back tonight 4-5 from the three point line, but I like a lot of guys to score."

On the importance of getting 18 points off turnovers in the first half:

"Well to me it was the story in the first half because we were running and getting the ball off the break I’m not sure what it said we had off the break sometimes that only counts our primary break not just our secondary break.  I think that was huge for us, we turned the ball over too many times also we gave them some opportunities."

On handling the injuries/illnesses on the team:

"Well I think we’re more mature, more experienced playing all the games we’ve already played.  I’ll tell you the truth Sunday night I was wishing we played Wednesday night instead of Tuesday because I felt that extra day would of helped us.  I think it’s been going around campus for guys/girls everything for about 24 hours so we were lucky that it did happen on.  Desmond he got up Sunday morning not feeling well, P.J. was in the middle of the night Sunday, early Monday morning.  James Michael his back was bothering him so it wasn’t a virus or anything.  I think we are a little bit more mature we’re more experienced but it does help us to have everybody available."

On shooting a high percentage:

"You know I’m always seeing how we’re doing on the offensive end are we setting a guy up are we setting screens are we doing what we’re supposed to be doing so I don’t have any idea about evaluating their defensive play.  I like the shots we were getting and again you know we shoot 51.6% but we finish the game one for eight or one for nine.  I think we moved it better, we’ve got to get Joel and Brice in better shape because they were really dragging out there trying to play those three or four minutes there."

On McAdoo’s rough start and solid finish the last two games:

"I took him out Saturday because I didn’t like the way he was playing so I was mad at him, today I just wanted to give him a break.  I want him to get involved in the game quicker.  When he came to shoot around today he was only here for about six or seven minutes because he was in class and didn’t get out of class until shoot around was already over and he talked at that time about his back was very stiff sitting in class, nothing physical.  He did some treatment with the trainer after pregame it was two entirely different situations because he felt good before the game Saturday and today he was a little stiff maybe we’ll have to get him outside find an outside goal and shoot on it a half hour before the game starts get him warmed up a little bit."
