2012 NFL Mock Draft Second Round Featuring the Tar Heel Inside Scoop
57. Denver Broncos Coby Fleener, Tight End, Stanford
Now that the Broncos have named Tim Tebow as their starting quarterback going into 2012, the team should be looking to put pieces in place around him. While current head coach John Fox was hesitant to bring on a tight end during his tenure with the Carolina Panthers, I believe that the team will break stride and look to add a security blanket for their young quarterback. If a player like Charles is still available during the latter part of the second round, I believe that Denver will scoop him up.
58. Houston Texans Rueben Randle, Wide Receiver, LSU
If the Texans elect to improve their defense in their first round (I project that the team will select Michigan St. quarterback, Jerel Worthy with the 26nd pick), then I believe that they will look to boost their offense with their second pick. Adding a player like Rueben Randle would give quarterback Matt Schaub another dangerous weapon when he returns next season.
59. New Orleans Saints Nick Perry, Defensive End, USC
Last season, the Saints proved that their offensive is one of the best in all of football. Their defense played solid last year, but there is still room for them to improve. During his tenure as a defensive coordinator, Gregg Williams has developed a reputation from blitzing as much as he possibly can. Adding player like Nick Perry to his defensive line would play to the Saints strength.
