UNC Basketball recruiting target Cole Anthony has updated when he will make his official announcement per Rivals

Five-star guard Cole Anthony is the biggest target on North Carolina’s 2019 recruiting board which also features Matthew Hurt and Precious Achiuwa. As it stands now, the Tar Heels are in good shape with Anthony as the recruit is down to just five teams.

Anthony just wrapped up a week in which he won the three-point shootout and McDonald’s Game MVP during the event in Atlanta. The combo guard put on a show and was a standout recruit throughout the week of events.

But Anthony also revealed some news on his recruitment.

He confirmed to Rivals that he is down to just five schools in his recruitment and even updated when he would make a decision. It was previously speculated that he would decide sometime in April, likely early in the month.

Anthony told Rivals that it will indeed be in April but it will be on the 20th, the day of the Jordan Brand Classic in Las Vegas.

Here is what Corey Evans wrote in his latest piece for Rivals:

"Don’t fret, UNC fans, because help is on its way. Cole Anthony, a top-five guard prospect in the 2019 class, told Rivals.com on Sunday that will be announcing his college commitment on April 20. It would be a giant shock if he were to not choose UNC."

Other than the date announcement, the thing that sticks out is that Evans believes Anthony will indeed end up at UNC saying it would be a “giant shock” if he didn’t.

As we lead up to that April 20th decision date, more and more experts are making their picks for where Anthony will land. The trend is for him to end up at North Carolina, which should be a good sign for Tar Heels fans.

However, we know how recruiting can be and anything can change at any moment so we will just have to wait until April 20th for his decision.
