The Heels currently have seven freshman and sophomores on the roster this season. Today I will resume my “Rank ‘Em” column and put the youngsters into tiers and rank from top to bottom. There is one thing that stands out to me about UNC that not many other “powerhouse” programs can claim in the current “one-and-done” era.

For the most part, the Tar Heel players stick around. Whether or not they’re lottery picks (Harrison Barnes), late first-rounders (Ty Lawson), second rounders (Danny Green) or undrafted free agents (James Michael McAdoo)  we tend to get to know these players through the years.

The youth:

#1 – Theo Pinson (freshman)
#2 – Joel Berry II (freshman)
#44 – Justin Jackson (freshman)
#0 – Nate Britt (sophomore)
#3 – Kennedy Meeks (sophomore)
#22 – Isaiah Hicks (sophomore)
#45 – Stillman White (sophomore)
