To continue my “Rank’Em” lists I will now take a look at the top five UNC basketball players in the Roy Williams era. I should note, however, I did not take into account players from the 2005 national championship team to avoid any “he didn’t even recruit him” type of fallout. The players on this list are all players that have been brought in by Roy Williams and his staff. We start with #5 on the list.

For this list, Hansbrough is the hands down #1. I don’t see how anyone could argue with that. Best of all time, not so sure. Don’t forget, we had Jack Cobb, Billy Cunningham, Charlie Scott, Bob Mcadoo, Lenny Rosenbluth, Phil Ford, Michael Jordan, James Worthy, Sam Perkins, Antawn Jamison, Vince Carter, and others!

Maybe the title of this article is top 5 best players recruited by Roy Williams at UNC because there is no way you can convince any Tar Heel fan that Barnes, Green & Zeller were better than Sean May & Raymond Felton. You know the two best players from Roy’s first title team. Hell, even McCants had a better Career than Barnes & Green in a UNC jersey.

      pretty cut and dry dude

That’s why I suggested the title should be changed. You can’t have a title of “top 5 players” and then exclude some players because he didn’t recruit them. If you changed the title to “top 5 recruited by Roy while at UNC”, then there would be no need for the note. To list a top 5 of players he recruited while excluding better players who played for him(It’s not like he only had those 3 I listed for 1 year either) shouldn’t have the title of the article you used.
