The University of North Carolina is one of the most recognized basketball programs in history. Even when they struggle on the court, the Tar Heels still sport some of the best sneakers in the game.

They have brought out a ton of Air Jordan’s over the years, thanks to Michael Jordan’s playing days at Carolina. But Air Jordan isn’t the only brand the Tar Heels have sported over the years. Whether its player editions, special colorways or just retros, the Tar Heels don’t disappoint.

Enjoy my list of the top 10 sneakers sported in UNC Basketball history.

The Nike Zoom Lebron 2 is one of the ugliest shoes ever created. It shouldn’t be within 10 miles of this list.

Missed the biggest one. The Converse (“Chuck’s”) high tops that came out in the late 60′s (think Rusty Clark, Bill Bunting, Dick Grubar) in Carolina Blue had a real “wow” factor to them. Up until then white and black were the only colors available. Really stood out and helped build the Carolina brand.
