UNC will play in the Saturday showcase game featuring ESPN’s College GameDay in Durham
For the second time this season, ESPN College Gameday will be covering the best rivalry in college sports.
The North Carolina Tar Heels and Duke Blue Devils are meeting for the second time this season in the Atlantic Coast Conference season finale.
UNC took the first meeting in Chapel Hill earlier in February, a game in which they trailed at halftime. But this meeting will be in Durham and it will be in senior night for the Blue Devils.
With both teams in the hunt for a double-bye, some seeding for the ACC Tournament could be on the line. The Blue Devils currently hold the two-seed with the Tar Heels not far behind in third place.
The Tar Heels hold the tiebreaker due to the head-to-head win earlier in the season so that could be a big advantage for UNC if they were to win the second matchup.
With the game tipping off at 8:15 p.m. ET, it will be the showcased game on ESPN that day. That means College Gameday will be on Duke’s campus for the pregame show.
This is the second time College Gameday will be at the UNC-Duke game, as they made their first trip to the meeting in Chapel Hill.
The Tar Heels will make their record 19th appearance on College Gameday, going 10-9 in that span. They are riding a two-game win streak, winning earlier this year and then during last year’s season finale in Chapel Hill against Duke.
This game will also be a matchup of Top 10 opponents, as both teams took care of business this week winning their games.
