UNC Basketball: Roy Williams set to visit Armando Bacot

Roy Williams is set to visit c/o 2019 recruit Armando Bacot on Wednesday

The North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball program still has one target left on their 2018 recruiting board but they are very active in the 2019 class.

Head coach Roy Williams is back on the recruiting trail with the Tar Heels having a few days off.

On Wednesday, Williams will pay a visit to one of the Tar Heels’ top targets in that class just a week after he took an unofficial to UNC.

According to Rivals reporter Corey Evans, Williams is visiting five-star forward Armando Bacot in Virginia tonight.

Bacot is one of the best big men in the 2019 class and is ranked as a top 15 player right now.

The Richmond, Virginia product is listed as both a power forward and center and is the No. 1 player in the state.

Bacot has a total of 36 offers including UNC, Duke, Kansas, Oklahoma State, Georgetown, Villanova, Florida State, Clemson, Kentucky, Tennessee, Oregon and NC State among other programs.

He recently took an unofficial visit to Chapel Hill for last week’s UNC-Duke game, taking in the atmosphere while sitting next to UNC 2018 recruit Nassir Little.

While it is still early in his recruitment, the 247 Sports crystal ball is currently at 100 percent for Duke, with many believing they are the leaders in his recruitment. Williams is starting to put the full court press on Bacot in hopes of swaying him to come to UNC.

The Tar Heels have point guard Jeremiah Francis signed right now in their 2019 class but landing Bacot would fill a big need in the post for the Tar Heels’ future.
