UNC Football: Time and date set for annual ‘Meet the Heels’ day

Annual ‘Meet the Heels’ day set for August 5th

The start of the 2017 college football season is just around the corner, and fans across the country are excited to get a glimpse at this year’s incarnation of their favorite team.

As is the case nearly every year in college football, a number of new faces join programs as many of the familiar ones move on after graduation or a jump to the pros.

In North Carolina, Tar Heels fans will get an opportunity to meet some of those new faces, as well as those returning, at an event held in downtown Chapel Hill.

On Saturday, August 5th, the University of North Carolina will hold its annual “Meet the Heels” day. The event is scheduled from 4-6 p.m. on The Plaza at 140 West Franklin Street.

The event will kick off with the public unveiling of the team’s new Jordan Brand apparel, giving fans an opportunity to see the new gear for the first time in person.

An autograph session, including members of the 2017 Tar Heels football team and head football coach Larry Fedora, will ensue at 4:30 p.m. and run for the duration of the event.

According to GoHeels.com, other featured activities include:

• Interactive inflatables for kids
• Unveiling of new Jordan Brand Carolina Football uniforms
• Free Carolina football posters and schedule cards
• Balloon twisters, face painters, and a walk-around magician
• Chapel Hill Sportswear with all the newest Jordan Brand football gear

Additional details can be found on GoHeels.com and parking information is available at ParkOnTheHill.com.

If you are planning to be in the Triangle area on August 5th, be sure to stop by and take part in this free event that is open to the public.
