2017 prospect Kevin Knox schedules in-home visits with each of the five schools that remain on his list
On Tuesday morning, multiple media outlets reported that 2017 prospect Kevin Knox would be hosting in-home visits for four schools over the next two days, and North Carolina was’t one of them.
Now, just hours later, Scout’s Evan Daniels is reporting that UNC will indeed get an in-home visit with the prized recruit.
Daniels is stating that Knox will meet with UNC at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
The five-star prospect will host Florida State’s Leonard Hamilton at 6 p.m. on Tuesday night, followed by Kentucky’s John Calipari at 8 p.m.
Missouri head coach Cuonzo Martin will be in Tampa, Florida to visit Knox after the Tar Heels and before the Duke coaching staff arrives later in the evening.
For months, Knox’s options were seemingly set on Duke, Florida State, Kentucky and North Carolina. But after Michael Porter, Jr. flipped from Washington to Missouri, Knox decided to give the idea some more thought.
Now, it appears as if all five teams have a shot and nobody is sure where the talented wing will land.
Has Roy Williams and his coaching staff done enough to get a commitment from their top target in the class of 2017? Or will North Carolina again get left in the cold with another elite target that chooses the likes of Kentucky or Duke?
Knox, a 6-foot-8, 205-pound small forward out of Tampa Catholic, is scheduled to make his announcement in late April or early May, depending on television availability.
He’s the No. 8 player in the class of 2017 and the second best small forward according to the 247Sports Composite.
