1957 Kansas Jayhawks 

Entering the national championship game against North Carolina, Kansas had a 24-2 record. The Kansas Jayhawks were led by the legendary, Wilt Chamberlain. Throughout this season, Chamberlain averaged 29.6 points and 18.8 rebounds per game.

Kansas was ranked No. 1, until they lost to Iowa State in mid-January. At this point, they fell down to No. 2 and stayed in this position for the rest of the season.

In the national semifinal game, Kansas defeated the two-time defending champs, the San Francisco Dons 80-56. Kansas shot nearly 60% from the field in this game. In the national championship game, No. 2 Kansas lost to the overall No. 1 team, North Carolina, 54-53 in triple overtime.
