The 5-star guard has cut his recruiting list down to the final set of contenders.

After much anticipation throughout the week, Skyy Clark has cut his recruiting list down to a set number of schools. Originally, the 5-star guard from Brentwood, Tennessee stated that he would narrow his list down to seven schools. However, that plan changed a bit.

As seen in the above tweet sent out on Friday afternoon, Clark has cut his his list of schools to eight, instead of seven. With USC making a late offer on Thursday evening, it isn’t a surprise that the combo guard decided to keep the Trojans on his final list.

The Tar Heels are among the teams that join the Trojans on Clark’s top-8 list. Along with North Carolina and USC, Tennessee State, Memphis, Kentucky, Michigan, UCLA and Oregon are also included on the list.

As we prepare for Clark’s decision, it’s important to know that there is a possibility that the rising junior could reclassify.  Regardless of which class he ends up being a part of, Clark is a guy that will be pursued heavily by the Tar Heels.

With only one current recruit in the class of 2021, Roy Williams and his staff have been looking to get a pledge at the point guard position. As there is the possibility of Caleb Love being a “one-and-done” player, Williams will need someone who can take over the reins if this does become a reality.

Currently, the 247 Crystal Ball predictions have Clark heading to Kentucky. This isn’t a good sign as of now, but as we know, the Crystal Ball predictions can definitely change.

Clark seems close to ready to making a final decision, which could end up hurting the Tar Heels. If his recruitment lingers a bit, this could help North Carolina, as they may be able to get an official visit with the highly-touted prospect.
