Five-star forward Greg Brown is a top target for the UNC Basketball program and he set three official visits on Wednesday afternoon

One of the top targets for the North Carolina Tar Heels in their 2020 recruiting class is five-star power forward Greg Brown out of Texas. The Austin native recently listed UNC in his final list and plans on taking some official visits this Fall.

On Wednesday, Greg Brown Sr. told Scout’s Evan Daniels that his son has set three official visits.

Brown will visit Texas first on the weekend of September 7th, then head to Auburn on November 30th and finally Memphis on January 4th. But what about his other two visits and where are the Tar Heels on this list?

Well, don’t panic just yet UNC fans.

Brown does still plan on visiting Chapel Hill for an official, he’s just working it out with his schedule this Fall. The recruit’s father, Brown Sr., told Daniels that he wants to take a visit to Chapel Hill during the college basketball season to get the full experience and see the Tar Heels take on a big opponent.

"To go with those three schools, Kentucky and North Carolina are also on Brown’s list. Brown Sr. said they are looking to schedule visits for both during the college basketball season.“We haven’t set up the Kentucky one yet and we haven’t set up North Carolina, but North Carolina we will try to do those one of their big games,” he explained. “We’ve gone to the Duke game, so I would probably want to see them play Virginia at home if that happens or another game. Then kind of pick and choose a Kentucky game and what sets up to be a big match up.”"

Brown was one of the recruits in attendance last March for UNC’s regular-season finale win over Duke in the Dean Dome. The Tar Heels do host Virginia this season but the ACC schedule hasn’t fully been released with dates.

The recruit will likely wait until the schedule comes out to schedule his UNC visit.

As it stands now, UNC could be in a good position to land Brown. They have been rumored to be the favorites with in-state Texas but don’t rule out the other three, especially Kentucky and Memphis who appear to be gaining some momentum.

With five-star center Day’Ron Sharpe already signed, adding Brown would give the Tar Heels two dominant post players, something Roy Williams would love to have for the 2020-21 season.
