Two UNC Basketball players were invited to the 2019 NBA Draft Green Room as they await the next destination in their professional basketball career

The 2018-19 NBA season is in the books as the Toronto Raptors defeated the Golden State Warriors in six games to claim their first ever NBA Championship. It was a weird NBA Finals to say the least, with the Raptors winning all three road games at Golden State as the Warriors were without Kevin Durant for most of the series and Klay Thompson for half of Game 6.

With the season over, the focus now shifts to the offseason beginning with the 2019 NBA Draft on Thursday and then followed up by free agency a week later.

This year’s draft could be one of the more exciting ones in recent history, especially after the New Orleans Pelicans made the move to trade Anthony Davis to Los Angeles for three first round picks as well as Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Josh Hart.

One of those picks is No. 4 overall and it could play a factor on where UNC point guard Coby White ends up. There have been a few reports of White going as high as No. 5 but the most mocked destinations have him going to Phoenix, Chicago or Atlanta.

When White does find out where he is playing his professional basketball at, he will be backstage in New York as he was one of the recruits invited to the green room. White will be one of 20 players that were invited to the green room for the NBA Draft and will be on stage to shake commissioner Adam Silver’s hand when the selection is made:

Joining White in the green room will be his teammate at UNC, Nassir Little. The duo were a part of UNC’s 2018 recruiting class that also featured Rechon Black.

White and Little helped UNC reach the Sweet 16 in their one year in Chapel Hill.

Next. UNC has a new recruiting target in 2020. dark
