Two Tar Heels are headed to the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis where they will weigh in and be measured ahead of drills

The NFL world right now revolves around Indianapolis as hundreds of draft prospects are in town for the annual NFL Scouting Combine. The week long event gives prospects the chance to be evaluated by pro scouts, coaches and general managers.

Players will weigh in, be measured, interviewed by the media and participate in drills throughout the event. Oh, they will also have the chance to meet with NFL teams which can sometimes be the more interesting part of the whole process.

The North Carolina Tar Heels are sending two prospects to Indianapolis with offensive lineman William Sweet and linebacker Malik Carney making the trip. Both will go through the entire process and hope to up their draft stock ahead of April’s 2019 NFL Draft.

The first order of business is to be weighed in and measured ahead of the drills.

While Carney has yet to do so, but will on Friday, Sweet was among the first group to be weighed in at the combine.

According to NFL writer Charles Robinson, Sweet measured out pretty well:

The 6-foot-6, 313-pound frame isn’t bad for an offensive tackle and could be intriguing for NFL teams as could his 83 1/8th inch wingspan.

NFL Draft analyst Lance Zierlein lists his height and length as one of his strengths going into this draft as well as his blocking ability. But while there are some strengths to his game, Sweet is going to have to improve on some areas at the next level.

Some of those are his movement, gaining ground when sliding to pass block and getting a bit stronger per Zierlein.

This combine is a chance to Sweet to improve his draft stock and hear his named called early on Day 2 or 3 in the NFL Draft.

Next. Chazz Surratt will move from QB to OLB. dark
