The UNC Football program picks up a big commitment from a four-star in-state safety on Tuesday afternoon in the 2020 recruiting class

New University of North Carolina Tar Heels head coach Mack Brown has only been on the job for nearly two months now but he’s already started to build his recruiting classes.

After only having  just a few weeks of being on the recruiting trail, Brown was able to turn the 2019 football class from No. 90 to a Top 40-ranked class nationally during the Early Signing Period in December. There’s a lot of work to still do for that 2019 class from now until National Signing Day in February but it appears UNC will have a solid class.

As for the 2020 recruiting class, that will be Brown’s first major one he’s had control over and already he’s off to a great start.

The Tar Heels received a big commitment on Tuesday afternoon from an in-state safety who is considered a Top 200 player in the class. Cameron Roseman-Sinclair offered his verbal commitment on Tuesday afternoon with a Twitter image, committing to the Tar Heels:

Roseman-Sinclair is a four-star safety out of Charlotte, North Carolina and becomes the first prospect to verbally commit in the 2020 class in the Mack Brown regime. He joins three-star running back Elijah Burris as two players committed in the class with Burris offering his verbal back in October.

This is a significant recruit for Brown as he looks to solidify the Tar Heels defense and now has a four-star player as the foundation for the class.

The Myers Park High visited UNC back on December 15th and the Tar Heels apparently did enough to sway him to Chapel Hill.  He had offers from Kentucky, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Tennessee and Maryland among others but in the end, it was UNC that won him over.

He’s currently ranked as the ninth-best safety in the 2020 class as UNC is off to a good start in that cycle.
