Five-star recruit Josh Green will announce his college decision on Thursday with the North Carolina Tar Heels and Arizona Wildcats battling it out for him

The North Carolina Tar Heels will soon know their fate for a five-star wing in the 2019 recruiting class.

IMG Academy standout Josh Green revealed that he will be announcing his decision on which college to attend Thursday evening. The five-star win has a final six of UNC, Arizona, UNLV, Kansas, USC and Villanova.

While Green has a final six, it appears this battle will be between UNC and Arizona.

Both teams have showed consistent interest in Green and have made him a priority recruit over the past few months. UNC head coach Roy Williams has gone out of his way to watch Green on the AAU circuit, showing just how much he wants to land the win to add to his 2019 class.

Green has admitted that UNC was a “dream school” of his, giving Tar Heels fans hope that he does select them come Thursday. The Tar Heels were even rumored to be the heavy favorites leading up to his visit just two weeks ago.

Green recently took a visit to Chapel Hill on the weekend of September 22nd, using the date as his official visit with IMG teammate and fellow UNC target Jeremiah Robinson-Earl. He’s set to visit Arizona for his official on October 13th but it could be a situation where he commits to the Wildcats and then sets a visit date.

All good for UNC, right?  Well not exactly.

Shortly after the news broke that Green was going to announce, the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predictor turned in favor of Arizona. 247 Sports National Recruiting Analyst Evan Daniels made his official Crystal Ball pick on Wednesday and went with the Wildcats.

It wasn’t long before fellow Recruiting Analyst Josh Gershon made his selection for the Wildcats as well. The Wildcats currently have a 73% to 23% advantage over the Tar Heels in the predictor and barring any shocking turn of events will likely land Green on Thursday.

Williams had some high hopes of adding a wing like Green to his class that already features center Armando Bacot and point guard Jeremiah Francis. Green would have been a perfect fit for this Tar Heels team to play at the 3 spot as he’s a natural scorer and can essentially beat you from anywhere on the court.

Next. Will Armando Bacot and Cole Anthony be a package deal?. dark

Green is expected to announce at 2 p.m. EST on Thursday. Stay tuned for his decision and what it means for the Tar Heels regardless of who he picks.
