Keeping It Heel is going to continue to help you countdown the weeks until college football season by revealing our list of the top 25 UNC players for the upcoming season.

The college football season kicks off in about 11 weeks. Can you believe it?

Sure, the NBA Draft is right upon us but honestly, we have reached a dead period in sports, one that could use some grid iron action.

So what better way to get into the football mood than getting a sneak peek at the future of the Tar Heels.

Let’s take a look at player No. 11, a sophomore wide receiver who is looking to make a major impact on the field.

Position: Wide Receiver

Hometown: Randleman, South Carolina

High School: Randleman

Last Season: Last Season, Mollette battled with injuries. The season before he was redshirted, also dealing with injuries. The reason he made this list is because of his breakout performance in the spring game.

Check it out:

Mollette finished the spring game with seven catches for 100 yards and three touchdowns. Sure it is a spring game, but still, it was very encouraging especially since he caught the scores from three different quarterbacks.

Why he might move up this list: Lack of depth. Outside Austin Proehl, the rest of the wide receiver spots are wide open. After his spring game performance why not Mollette?

Mollette also brings size. At 6-foot-4 and 210-pounds, Mollette is the biggest wide receiver on the team. You know who else was a big receiver who would also jump up for balls in the end zone?

Bug Howard and he is now with the Colts.

Why he might move down this list: Health. There is a reason Mollette has nothing more than spring game highlights to present, he hasn’t been able to stay healthy since coming to UNC back in 2015.

However, he didn’t struggle with health issues in high school, so maybe he is finally ready to take the next step.

He also will have to deal with competition and uncertainty at quarterback. If the Tar Heels run the ball more and play it safe with shorter passes, there may be fewer opportunities to shine this year.

Prediction: The spring game looks to be Mollette’s coming out party. If he can be a deep threat for the Tar Heels this season, it should open up some lanes for the running backs and make like easier for everybody.

Mollette becomes a force to be reckoned with and a dangerous weapon in the end zone. He finishes the season with 40 receptions for 560 yards and six touchdowns.
