It is that time of year again! Spring is in the air, and that means baseball season is right around the corner.

Baseball season brings out the kid in all of us. I can remember back in my childhood feeling the warm weather, and just dreaming of being back out on the diamond.

This year, the Diamond Heels will be looking to get out of a postseason slump. It has been two years since the last time the Heels dressed out for postseason baseball.

For a program the likes of North Carolina, that is too long to be out of the postseason. Prior to the current two-year absence, the Heels had appeared in the tournament 13 straight times.

Once again this season, the Heels will be led by head coach Mike Fox, who is in his 19th season at the helm. Coach Fox missed the tournament for only the third time in his Tar Heel career last season.

As far as milestones go, Coach Fox currently sits at 796 wins as a Tar Heel head coach. Odds are Coach will get his 800th early on in the season.

Before we get too far into this season, let’s take a look back at last year!
