Breaking this afternoon, UNC has suspended four players for the first game of the season against the Liberty Flames. Here is the breaking news from Andrew Carter of the News and Observer.

In Larry Fedora’s post practice press conference, he repeatedly gave “violation of team policy” as the reason behind the suspension. However, ABC 11 is reporting that the players were suspended for their role in the alleged hazing incident involving walk-on wide receiver Jackson Boyer. Once again, however, Coach Fedora gave “violation of team policy” as the reason behind the suspension.

Here are the four players and their pictures.

North Carolina is playing Liberty, so the Heels are unlikely to suffer too much on the field because of the loss of the four defensive backs. Players underneath them on the depth chart will get a chance to start and prove what they can do on the football field. Kedrick Davis and T.J. Jiles are listed below Brian Walker on the cornerback depth chart. The third string corner behind Desmond Lawrence and M.J. Stewart was junior Alex Dixon. All three of those guys will get ample playing time on Saturday night.
