North Carolina quarterback Marquise Williams had one of the better soundbites yesterday at ACC Media Day, when the junior quarterback said that Florida State winning the BCS National Championship increased the ACC’s swag. Sam Werner of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette tweets his quote.
UNC QB Marquise Williams say FSU’s title has caused an increase in swag among other ACC teams. So that’s nice.

Marquise Williams is looking to be named the starting quarterback this fall for the Tar Heels after starting six games at QB last season after Bryn Renner went down with an injury. Known as a dual threat quarterback, Williams threw for 1,698 yards and 15 touchdowns and led the team in rushing with 536 yards on the ground. As good as he was last season, Williams hasn’t completely locked up the first team quarterback gig from redshirt freshman Mitch Trubisky, who is thought to have the better arm of the two.
News and Observer beat reporter Andrew Carter tweeted William’s quotes about how he would like to change North Carolina’s perception from just a basketball school to a basketball and football powerhouse.
Marquise: “I don’t want to call somebody from, like, Brazil, and be like, hey, you ever heard of North Carolina? ‘The basketball school?’” — Andrew Carter (@_andrewcarter) July 20, 2014
“No, the football school,” Marquise said. “I want to change things like that.”

Marquise provided one more good soundbite Sunday, told again by Sam Werner.
UNC QB Marquise Williams on Tar Heels WR Ryan Switzer: “If he could be the kicker, he’d be the kicker.” — Sam Werner (@SWernerPG) July 20, 2014
