James Michael McAdoo has agreed to a contract with the Golden State Warriors according to reports. The contract is a summer league contract, so he will still have to earn a roster spot.
Mcadoo’s draft stock trended downward ever since he decided to come back to North Carolina for his sophomore year. McAdoo was projected as high as a lottery pick by some experts after his freshman season at UNC and on Thursday night, McAdoo found himself undrafted.
He averaged 14.2 points and 6.8 rebounds last season.
Many thought McAdoo should have stayed at Carolina at least another year, but it didn’t happen and it’s over with. Now he has to make the most of this opportunity and prove he belongs on an NBA roster.
If McAdoo earns a spot on the Warriors, he will be reunited with former teammate Harrison Barnes. It will be interesting to see if McAdoo can land on an NBA roster and earn a spot.
