UNC Basketball: Tar Heels offer 2016 point guard


The North Carolina Tar Heels have offered five-star recruit Dennis Smith Jr., according to Inside Carolina. The 2016 recruit is the top ranked point guard by several recruiting sites has already received numerous offers and interest. The Tar Heels are the latest to offer Smith Jr. who has cemented himself as the best point guard in the class.

The 6-foot-2 Smith Jr. from North Carolina has been praised for his court vision and ability to get in the lane and score. He has also received comparisons to current Washington Wizards point guard John Wall.

His recruitment has been quiet, as he’s ranked the number 16 overall prospect by Rivals. But recently, he has turned his game up a notch and is now receiving a high level of interest. Other teams who have offer include Kansas, Duke, North Carolina State, Wake Forest and VCU.

The Tar Heels are no strangers to great point guard recruits, having a rich history of point guard talent flowing through the school.
