Former McDonald’s All-American and North Carolina Tar Heel basketball player Neil Fingleton was on this week’s episode of ‘Game of Thrones’ as a giant. Now I don’t remember hearing much about Neil Fingleton and don’t know much at all about “Game of Thrones,’ but that’s still pretty awesome!

Fingleton was a 7 foot 6, 7 foot 5 recruit for the Tar Heels in the early 2000s. He never played for UNC, as he was injured and got a medical redshirt his first year at North Carolina. Then, he transferred to Holy Cross University. He is originally from England and now is trying his hand at acting!

In the “Game of Thrones’ episode titled “Watchers on the Wall,” Fingleton played a giant. (Insert joke about how that must have been easy since he is a giant in real life.) According to his IMDb profile, he has also acted as a bodyguard on X-Men: First Class and as a samurai on 47 Ronin. Not bad, Mr. Fingleton!

That is the photo of Mr. Fingleton, which I found on Grantland, who found it on Sporting News.

Hat Tip to Grantland’s Andrew Sharp and Sporting News’s Chris Littmann.
