Kareem Martin Drafted by the Arizona Cardinals in NFL Draft

Kareem Martin became the latest member of the Arizona Cardinals after being drafted with the 20th pick in Round Three of the 2014 NFL Draft. He is a 6’6″ defensive end hailing from Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina. Martin played four years at the University of North Carolina, from 2010 to 2014.

Martin was second team All-ACC in 2012, first team All-ACC in 2013 and a participant in the Senior Bowl in 2014. He finished his 2013 season at Carolina with 78 tackles and double digit sacks. He was a projected third round draft pick this season.

Martin was the second North Carolina Tar Heel taken so far in the draft, joining 10th overall selection Eric Ebron. Ebron was drafted to Detroit last night, just hours after proposing to his girlfriend atop the Empire State Building.

Kareem Martin will team up with fellow former North Carolina Tar Heel in Johnathon Cooper. Cooper was a standout offensive lineman and first round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, but he sat out last season with injury.
