The North Carolina Tar Heels have had a week off and are now set to take on the No. 25 Pitt Panthers. After their rivalry game against the Duke Blue Devils was postponed on Wednesday evening, the Tar Heels focus shifted to that of the Panthers.
North Carolina is riding a five-game winning streak and looks to extend that to six games with a win at home against the Pitt Panthers.
Pitt started conference play as one of the hottest teams in the country winning their first four games and nearly defeating then ranked No. 2 Syracuse. They’ve had a tough few weeks against some of the best teams in the ACC, but look to rebound with a road win in Chapel Hill just days after nearly defeating No. 1 ranked Syracuse yet again.
Marcus Paige continues to the lead the Tar Heels in scoring and assists with 17.0 points per game and 4.6 assists per game. James Michael McAdoo leads the team in rebounds per game with 6.8 and averages 15.0 points per game.
North Carolina ranks 8th in the country in rebounds per game, but Pitt ranks 20th in assists per game. Saturday’s game could potentially seal the NCAA Tournament hopes of one team.
The Tar Heels and Panthers tip-off on Saturday at 1:00PM on CBS and 106.1 The Talk (Tar Heels Sports Network).
