North Carolina vs. Duke: Game on, officials arrived at the Smith Center


[UPDATE | 5:46 PM] Tonight’s game has been officially postponed, per UNC

Tonight the North Carolina Tar Heels are scheduled to host the No. 9 Duke Blue Devils in the first of the two regularly scheduled games this season. However, mother nature has some other plans and is dumping snow and ice all over the state and RDU region.

However, according to Inside Carolina tonight’s Carolina vs. Duke game is still on as the officials for tonight’s game have arrived safely at the Dean Smith Center.

Most of the south and the entire state of North Carolina is experiencing winter storms today. Yesterday, the first of a one-two punch of winter storms hit the Triangle and surrounding areas. Wednesday, the storms returned and are expected to be even worse through the night tonight.

However, the greatest sports rivalry will continue tonight as scheduled without delays! Duke will take on North Carolina at 9pm tonight in the Dean Smith Center. If plans change however, Keeping It Heel will keep you posted on the changes.

Head coach Roy Williams has walked out of his office and shook hands with the fans inline for tonight’s game. Williams was sporting gym shorts and a jacket despite the cold, icy weather.
