While we still have a long way to go in the 2013-2014 NCAA Basketball season, it’s never too early to look ahead to next season. Especially when the recruiting is starting to heat up some.

North Carolina currently has three recruits signed for next season and recently jumped up to number three in ESPN’s Recruiting Nation rankings. The Tar Heels have a very good class already and if Rashad Vaughn decides to commit to North Carolina Saturday, it instantly gets better.

I recently thought of what the Tar Heels could look like next season and how their starting lineup would be. I will leave Vaughn out of it because he hasn’t committed yet.

The biggest question going into next season is if James Michael McAdoo will return for his senior season. After struggling last season and the beginning of this season, McAdoo looks like he has received the memo. Going back to the game against Clemson, McAdoo has played a lot better. This gives Carolina another scoring option to compliment Paige.

If McAdoo comes back next season the Tar Heels will need him to play consistently well throughout the season. especially since the early indications are that Marcus Paige will stay for his junior season.

Here is a look at what the Tar Heels lineup could look like next year.

Paige will get the start at PG, with Britt coming off the bench. He’s still their best player at the PG position and offers the best option for offensive success.

    • David Gleason

You don’t know anything about UNC’s recruits. There is no way Marcus Paige is going to be the point guard next year. Joel Berry will be the starting point guard. Paige will be the shooting guard.

Hicks is another possibility at power forward. I have not seen much out of him so far, but he was a top-10 recruit.

    • Mark

      He is horrible.

      • jbunker7

No, he just frequently played out of position and didn’t have much time to develop at his natural position last year. He’ll develop into something fierce either this year or next

“With Meeks and Joel James, the future down low is bright.” Ok….now give me a good reason why we’re not recruiting Miles Turner?

  • Pb Peifer

Britt start???…I believe Jackson and Pinson will end up playing alot more then Britt and Berry will blow him out of the water! Britt is a liability on offense and his Assist: turnover ration is horrendous! Besides limited potential.

    • Mark

      Yep. Waste of a scholarship.
