Former North Carolina point guard Ty Lawson is no doubt having one of his best seasons as a pro. Playing in Denver for the Nuggets, Lawson is averaging 17.9 points per game and 8.6 assists in his fifth season in the league. Before that, he was a star guard for North Carolina, helping the Heels to a National Championship in 2009. Now, the Nuggets are trying to get their point guard into the All-Star game. Here is the video that the Nuggets released to get the ball rolling on Lawson’s All-Star campaign.
I really liked the video and the theme of speed with Ty Lawson. You could see even while Ty was at UNC how fast he was, and he continues to use that speed when driving the ball in the NBA. Per NBA.com, Lawson leads the league in drives per game with 10.7 and is one of the fastest players.
Tar Heel nation should get behind Ty Lawson and the Denver Nuggets’ movement of trying to get Ty in the All-Star game. Use #Vote4Ty on Twitter and check out this link to vote for Lawson on NBA.com. While its unlike that Lawson makes it because the Western Conference has so many talented guards, its worth a shot for a former Tar Heel hero!
