The Los Angeles Lakers have had some issues at the point guard position with injuries this season. Eventually it led to the signing of Tar Heel alumni Kendall Marshall and now Marshall is set for another career milestone.
Tonight, Marshall will start for the first time as a Laker when they play the Utah Jazz. Marshall just several weeks ago had returned to the D-League, but injuries have left the Lakers with no other options.
Tar Heel fans are very excited to see what Marshall can do not only as a starter in the NBA, but with a team that has the talent that the Lakers do. The Phoenix Suns never were able to develop him, but maybe this is the opportunity Marshall needed to get that chance to prove himself.
Marshall is the sixth point guard to play for the Lakers this season, and has only played in four games this season for them. With a 13-19 record, the Lakers need Marshall to play strong and get this team motivated and winning again.
