Countdown Til Bowlmas: Day 6- Recruiting Geese A Laying

The Countdown to Bowlmas will be a running series on Keeping It Heel leading up to the Belk Bowl on December 28th. The series will recap moments from the season in UNC football from Marquise Williams’s rise to Ryan Switzer’s amazing returns. We will even roll with the Christmas theme and center our recaps around verses from the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” Check back every morning for the daily countdown post, and use #Bowlmas to support the movement on Twitter.

Now while this is a review of the season,
Let us be clear
Just what UNC needs
To focus on here
We’ve reviewed how UNC
Struggles at running back as much as
Any other position
And TJ didn’t get enough touches
But the calvary is coming
Have no fear, have no shame
He’s a beast on the field,
Elijah Hood is his name

Now I’ve watched him playing first hand you see
Elijah Hood destroying defenses like they were JV
The girl I was dating, her brother a receiver
On the Charlotte Catholic team of which EH was a leader
So I went to a couple games, and you’ll be happy to find
He dominated every game in my mind
Hood was fast but strong, outrunning linebackers
Running over safeties, corners, and all wannabe, would-be defensive tacklers
UNC struggled mightily in this category you see
Coming in at a lowly 85th ranking, nationally
TJ Logan tried his best, but he needs some running back help
If he doesn’t, UNC won’t pass many opposing teams’ tests
In comes Hood to help shoulder the load all around
With a 4:48 40, carrying 221 pounds
He’s ranked sixth in the land, first in the state
Sure to leave defenses with a load on their plate
I want to give you a visual of a player you know,
The way that Elijah Hood runs the balls down defense’s throats
Think Mike Tolbert, the Panthers running back beast
A physical runner with surprisingly quick feet
The way he can cut and the way he can smash
Make UNC fans feel like they found a nice stack of cash

Now I hope I don’t make this too much, this is a review after all
But I’m so dang excited I can’t contain my excitement at all
It’s important to look in the rearview mirror you see
But this Holiday Season, let’s look at what’s under the Ol’ Christmas Tree
