Countdown Til Bowlmas: Day 8: Davis-A-Receiving

The Countdown to Bowlmas will be a running series on Keeping It Heel leading up to the Belk Bowl on December 28th. The series will recap moments from the season in UNC football from Marquise William’s rise to Ryan Switzer’s amazing returns. We will even roll with the Christmas theme and center our recaps around verses from the song “The Twelve Days of Christmas.” Check back every morning for the daily countdown post, and use #Bowlmas to support the movement on Twitter.

Here today at Keeping it Heel
We have a player profile special reveal
Yet another Tar Heel not getting his due
So today we’re prepared to bring to you
If this tall guy sits next to you on a plane
Leg room? Inside arm rest? Just think again
He tilts his head to walk down the aisle
But his skill is catching footballs thrown country miles
He’s a quarterback’s best friend they’re so happy he’s there
He makes them look great for just throwing footballs in the air
So let’s all toast some egg nog with a tip of a santa cap
Quinshad Davis is a catching, juking, touchdown-scoring, type of chap

The six-foot four, 205 pound sophomore has been strong and not caved
Made big plays for UNC, our hind-ends he has saved
724 yards to go with 10 touchdowns,
47 receptions Quinshad’s pulled down
Let’s make a list sure to leave all Tar Heels amazed
Of the teams he’s scored touchdowns against that he’s faced
There were but three teams that didn’t make this list
So here they are, the ones he put up TD points against:
First South Carolina, Quinshad Davis was the only to score
Then Middle Tennessee and ECU (where he had 111 receiving yards more)
Then Virginia Tech and Miami, he added a touchdown apiece to his stack
Then at NC State he pushed two more TDs into his stats
Davis caught another touchdown first at dook, then ODU
Leaving defenders to watch film as they angrily stewed
About how he burned them up and down, through and through
Quinshad was catching TDs, of which there were more than a few
So let’s all collectively appreciate and sit back
The things Mr. Davis has done to keep UNC on the map
Keep in mind he’s only a sophomore
And if you’re looking for touchdowns, he’ll have many more
