UNC Basketball: PJ Hairston, Leslie McDonald to sit out against Oakland

While the Tar Heels continue to play the waiting game with the NCAA, pending an investigation on PJ Hairston and Leslie McDonald, head coach Roy Williams addressed the media today in his weekly press conference announcing that neither player would be allowed to dress in up and play in this Friday’s game against Oakland.

Both players were spoken highly of by both Williams and their teammates who spoke in the press conference. Hairston and McDonald are both practicing hard and aren’t showing any signs that this is a distraction in their progress on the court.

In his weekly press conference, Williams also highlighted that he’s been upfront and honest with everyone involved in the situation, including the fans, and that he hasn’t stretched the truth to anyone. He knows just as much as the fans do, and is hopeful that a decision is nearing.

Williams also noted that he is optimistic Hairston will get to play later this season and won’t miss the entire season.
