It’s week two of the college football season and the North Carolina Tar Heels (0-1; 0-0 ACC) are all squared away to kick off their season in Chapel Hill. The Tar Heels will welcome the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders (1-0; 0-0 C-USA) to Kenan Memorial Stadium.
North Carolina showed some positive signs on the offensive side of the ball against South Carolina with Bryn Renner leading the efforts. Renner continues his streak of attempts without an interception. Romar Morris showed some speed and AJ Blue showed power in short yardage situations. You can expect the same efforts out of both.
Defensively, North Carolina needs to show a completely different team than the one we saw last week. Despite playing the No. 6 team in the nation, the UNC defensive was just horrid. The front seven couldn’t block against the run attack and the secondary just left receivers wide open for Conner Shaw.
MTSU has the odds stacked against them, but you cannot count them out. They upset the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets last season, and proved they can compete and give a tough challenge to any team.
