Whether you are traveling down south from North Carolina or a resident of Columbia already, you have to eat before kickoff on Gameday! Keeping It Heel has compiled a list of the five best destinations to grab some grub before you head over to the stadium for the game. The list consists of burger joints, BBQ restaurants and more. Of course there is no particular order we list these restaurants in, because we just hope you get a chance to try one of them out!
- Pawley’s Front Porch: Known for the unique gourmet burgers, Pawley’s Front Porch also has a full-bar for you to grab a drink before the game at! The food has always been great here, but it was after they were featured on Diner’s, Drive-In’s, and Dives that their popularity soared even more. They even have a personal favorite, sweet potato fries to go with your burger! So head on over to 827 Harden St for a great burger!
- Big T Bar-B-Q: Big T’s is a true dive, but it serves up some of the best BBQ you can find not only in the state of South Carolina, but the entire South. It meets the needs of anyone looking for good southern BBQ and it’s worth the wait! You can fine this joint over at 1061 Sparkleberry Lane Ext.
- The Whig: Have a big group with different craving? Head over to the Whig where you can anything from pizza to tacos to cheap beer! They even serve up a dish of hummus! It has a great atmosphere with true adult atmosphere that will satisfy any craving! It’s right across from the State House and not hard to miss! Head over to 1200 Main St. and grab a bite to eat!
- Mucho Margaritas: Anyone that knows me, knows I love good Mexican food! Mucho Margaritas has built a reputation of being the best Mexican food in Columbia. It’s a very casual atmosphere and really caters to the college atmosphere. They’ve also built a reputation for having some of the best margaritas in town! Just down the street from Pawley’s, you can find this great mexican restaurant at 819 Harden St.
