Bubba Cunningham: PJ Hairston Will Play Some Games This Year

With the continuing drama known as PJ Hairston, there has been numerous unanswered questions about Hairston’s situation and status. Since the announcement of his suspension, the two questions have been: How long will Hairston be suspended? and Will Hairston play at all this season?

Today while at a retreat with fellow UNC journalism professors, Cunningham answered that question…sort of.

According to Rob Dauster at collegebasketballtalk.com, he says that journalism reporter Andy Bechtel asked Cunningham if Hairston would play at all this year and he got a response.

Cunningham responded simply, “Yes, but not all the games.”

As the repeated blows to the stellar image of Carolina basketball continue to pile on courtesy of Mr. Hairston, fans continue to go from supporting him, to hoping he pays a fair price for what he’s done not only to himself and the team, but the danger he has put others around him in.

Now his fate is known as far as this upcoming season, but the question of how long will Hairston remain suspended still lingers? What does Cunningham exactly mean by “some” games? Will Hairston be allowed to partake in certain games on the schedule, but not all of them?

Only time will tell, but for now, Carolina fans can expect to see Hairston on court at one point this upcoming season.

What does Cunningham “exactly” mean by some games? Will Hairston be allowed to partake in certain games on the schedule, but not all of them?

It seems to me that “some games” means “some games” which means “some games” but not all of them. Why is it so difficult to understand the meaning of this statement?

Yes he does but clearer details are what fans still want to know. Not just general “some” games statement. Which games will they be? That’s what people want to know.

Hairston will only play the second Tuesday of each week of the post season

Do we have to be so sarcastic? I’m pretty sure you knew and know what I mean by those questions! Go Heels!

    • Bryant Douglass

Didn’t say it was difficult to understand, just want a detailed answer.

One can assume this means a 5-10 game suspension to start the season, I don’t think they can pick and choose which games he gets suspended based on opponent…

  • Curt Tagtmeier

He will only be eligible for the games against NC State.
