The year of Carolina sports has unfortunately came to an end. It can be said that it was a rather disappointing ending to the baseball season. The Diamond Heels lost in the College World Series to UCLA. In basketball, UNC lost a lot of major pieces, but after a terrible 1st half of the season, the Tar Heels turned it around to make the NCAA tournament. In football, probation kept UNC from reaching a bowl game. That didn’t stop them from having a good season. The Tar Heels finished the season with an 8-4 record, and finished in 1st place in the ACC Coastal division. Probation also stopped the Tar Heels from a trip to the ACC Championship game. The future is bright for North Carolina football, and all of UNC sports. Lets look back at some of the great moments from this year. The Top 5 moments are:

Number 5:  Small Lineup to the rescue
Things looked pretty rough for UNC early on in the season. Getting blown out of the gym by Butler, Indiana, Texas, NC State, and Miami was enough for Head Coach Roy Williams to make a lineup change. Roy inserted PJ Hairston into the starting lineup for a game in Cameron Indoor vs Duke. We saw a completely different UNC team from this point on. They finished the season with a 9-3 record, with 3 of the losses to Duke, Miami, and Kansas. All No.1 and No.2 seeds in the NCAA tournament. The small lineup created more space on the floor, and made the Tar Heels a much better team.
