Though the Spurs did lose the NBA Finals, meaning Danny Green won’t be getting a championship ring, it was still a decently successful week for former Carolina athletes.
Andrew Miller: Miller excelled as a starter in Chapel Hill, but he’s doing an awesome job in Boston as a reliever. The left hander has an ERA just under three, while also striking out 45 in only 27.2 innings pitched. He’s gotten better each month, and his ERA in June is an impressively low 1.93.
Bob McAdoo: Though Danny Green didn’t get a ring, this former Carolina All-American got one as an assistant coach for the Miami Heat. McAdoo is related to current Heels forward James Michael McAdoo, but he made a name for himself at Carolina by leading the Tar Heels to the Final Four in his one season in Chapel Hill.
Reggie Bullock: The only Tar Heel to declare early for the draft this year has been shooting up the boards according to many scouts. Earlier considered to maybe be only a second rounder, some mock drafts have Bullock going as high as the early-20’s. If you’re an ESPN Insider you can read Chad Ford’s mock draft where Bullock actually goes 19th to Cleveland.
