UNC Baseball vs. LSU Tigers Preview

Well the first round of the double elimination College World Series did not go to plan for not only No. 1 seeded North Carolina, but two other top-four seeds. Louisville and LSU both suffered a loss as well in their opening game. However, the beauty of the College World Series is that you can lose once, and still fight to win the championship.

The Wolfpack saved their ace Carlos Rodon who has given the Tar Heels a fit for the ACC showdown in the College World Series. He gave them yet another fit. They went hit-less until the end of the game and scoring their only run.

Now the Tar Heels look to survive and earn a second chance by beating the Tigers of LSU in Omaha!

Starting on the mound will be right handed pitcher Trent Thornton. Thornton is 11-1 on the season with an 1.28 ERA. In the post season he has been the go to guy for Mike Fox when it comes to the bullpen. Now he is the go to guy for the Tar Heels on the mound. North Carolina is in dire need of a solid start with their pitching having struggled all post season long (since the ACC Tournament).

Oregon State was the other national seed to fall, not Louisville. Just trying to get the respect deserved for the West Coast. Most are still writing off UCLA and OSU, even when they win.
