UNC Baseball vs NC State Preview

What better way to start the College World Series than with an in-state and conference rivalry between the North Carolina Tar Heels and North Carolina State Wolfpack. Better yet, how about both of their aces on the mound against each other to create the epic showdown of all showdowns!

This season the Tar Heels are 2-1 against NC State and look to go 3-1! Meanwhile the Wolfpack are at their first College World Series in over forty years.

Taking the mound on Sunday will be North Carolina’s ace pitcher Kent Emmanuel against NC State’s Carlos Rodon. Rodon has had some resting time, but Emmanuel has been working hard over the past two weeks. Despite pitching two outs on Tuesday, he has had a week worth of rest and should be ready to go on Sunday.

The strong bats of Colin Moran, Skye Bolt, and Brian Holberton look to continue coming through when they are needed offensively against arguably one of the best pitchers in college baseball.
