The North Carolina Tar Heels have been having one of the best seasons in the history of the baseball program in Chapel Hill. From the talent to the coaches, many honors and credit is duly deserved.
Two Tar Heels who have made a name for themselves this year and in previous years with the University of North Carolina have been named to the All-American team. Pitcher Kent Emanuel and third-baseman Colin Moran have been named to the All-American teams (Source: UNC Release).
Moran has been named as an All-America honors as a designated hitter by Baseball America. He was also given second team honors by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Emanuel was named to a third-team squad by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
Both are juniors who were drafted in this year’s MLB Draft. Moran was named ACC Player of the year and Emanuel was named ACC pitcher of the year.
Moran was drafted in the first round as the sixth overall pick by the Miami Marlins. Emanuel was drafted as the first pick of the third round by the Houston Astros.
