UPDATE: Game 3 has been postponed until Tuesday at 12 pm due to inclement weather!

Sunday did not go according to the plans of Mike Fox and his North Carolina Tar Heels. Exhaustion overwhelmed not only the stamina of the pitching staff, but the offense too.

After getting the one game advantage in a close battle Saturday, the Tar Heels let the South Carolina Gamecocks just destroy them Sunday afternoon with a final score of 8-0.

Starting pitching has been the achilles heel of the Tar Heels in the Super Regional round. Saturday, Kent Emmanuel lasted just two-plus innings. Sunday, Hobbs Johnson didn’t even make it past the second inning after allowing five runs and before Coach Fox pulled him. The relief staff has come in handy, but UNC is having to stretch their pitching to limits I’m sure Mike Fox isn’t wanting to do. Benton Moss gets the nod tonight for the ever important game three!
