After the long and tiring recruitment of Andrew Wiggins, the decision for 2014 basketball star Theo Pinson seems like a flash of lightening. It was here and tomorrow it will be gone.
The five-star rated small forward from Greensboro, North Carolina has officially made his commitment to North Carolina official. He made the announcement via his school with friends and family around at 12:15 p.m. this afternoon.
His last visit with the University of North Carolina was in March when the Tar Heels welcomed the in-state rival Duke Blue Devils to Chapel Hill.
He was considering Indiana, Duke, Georgetown, Louisville, and North Carolina as his final list of five schools. He also received offers from Clemson, Connecticut, Florida State, Maryland, Syracuse, Tennessee, and Kentucky.
Pinson made the decision today in front of members of his family, friends, and a few members of the North Carolina coaching staff.
Many insiders had predicted that Indiana would be the choice he’d make, but they were proved wrong. Many fans of North Carolina were not optimistic either, but were happily shocked to receive the news.
With Pinson’s commitment, North Carolina now has three top-25 players for their 2014 recruiting class.
