Diamond Heels Stay Hot

The North Carolina Tar Heels are having one impressive season thus far. They went nearly forty-games before losing their third game on the season. Pretty remarkable! The last time UNC has seen a start this strong, they won a national championship.

Despite losing one of the two games played against rival North Carolina State, the Tar Heels remain on top of the college baseball rankings. They’ve sat atop of those since the start of the season and don’t appear to be heading anywhere lower than No. 1 any time soon.

While most of the credit does need to go to the pitching rotation and bullpen, you must give the offensive talents of our players a good share of that credit. North Carolina has scored countless runs against opponent this year. One of the most exciting games would be a 16 run scoring victory over Miami (that I attended) and just how exciting the fans get when North Carolina’s bats are hot!

This season still has plenty of time for things to change, but the chemistry of this team is so strong, I don’t see that happening unless something drastic changes. One thing to note is that this team will lose more games, if they stay strong, it won’t be many. However, they will lose more!

What are your predictions for this year’s baseball team?
