Jonathan Cooper invited to NFL Draft’s “Green Room”
The green room at Radio City Music Hall in New York will be rather crowded this year. A total of 23 players have accepted an invitation to attend the 2013 NFL Draft on Thursday, April 25. Two quarterbacks will be in New York. That’s the same number as offensive guards making the trip: Alabama’s Chance Warmack and UNC’s Jonathan Cooper (NFL.com)

Elon coach, UNC alum Charlotte Smith votes UConn women No. 2
Ousted in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division I women’s basketball tournament, Baylor still received a first-place ballot Wednesday in the final USA TODAY Sports coaches poll. Connecticut, which earned the national title Tuesday night, received the remaining 30 first-place votes. “All along, I thought Baylor was the better team,” said Elon coach Charlotte Smith, who voted Connecticut No. 2. UNC-CH chancellor to be named Friday
The UNC Board of Governors is scheduled to meet Friday afternoon to elect a new chancellor at UNC-Chapel Hill. Chancellor Holden Thorp announced in September that he would step down at the end of the 2012-13 school year. In February, he accepted the position of provost at Washington University in St. Louis. No information has been released on possible chancellor candidates. (WRAL.com)

Travis Hughes staking claim to “Will” linebacker position
Juniors Tommy Heffernan and Travis Hughes, who have each started at different points in their UNC careers, have been battling it out for the starting job at weak-side linebacker (or “Will” position). And while both of them will be looked upon heavily to play, right now Hughes appears to have the inside track to the starting job. (Tar Heel Illustrated)
