North Carolina continues to build their outreach for the class of 2014 football recruiting efforts. They’ve found one of the nation’s best tight ends in Westerville, Ohio.
There, three-star tight end Darryl Long, can be found. Long is a 6’4″, 225 pound athletic tight end who has turned a lot of heads in his recruitment. He saw five schools jump into his recruitment last month including North Carolina.
Coach Walt Bell has been talking with Long for a while now and is hoping to get the talented receiver to commit to the Tar Heels.
Long has fourteen outstanding offers. Other than North Carolina his offers are from: Bowling Green, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Minnesota, Missouri, Pittsburgh, Purdue, South Florida, Toledo, and UCF. His big interests are in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Missouri, and North Carolina.
Long has not traveled to Chapel Hill for a visit, but has mentioned that he intends to visit the school and the football coaching staff at some point this summer.
Long says that his versatility is key to his success. He has a unique size for a tight end and is athletic and loaded with speed. He is a big tight end, but can move very well in play. Those are always good traits to have when you are a rather big player for your position.
