UNC Basketball: JP Tokoto Dunks Over Joel James (Video)

If you haven’t had a chance to see the footage from yesterday’s open practice in Kansas City yet, do so now! Yesterday, the Tar Heels took a few minutes out of their open practice to have fun and give the fans in attendance a little show.

In this video, you will see Joel James line up just below the basketball rim. Next, you will see fellow freshman JP Tokoto sprint towards the goal and jump over the 6’10″ forward James and slam the ball in the net. Absolutely incredible! How incredible? Enough to turn some Kansas fans into Tar Heel fans!

James is not a small guy by any means. To be able to jump up and then over him takes skill and athleticism.

This should excite any Tar Heel fan as it shows us the potential Tokoto has. With more playing time, Tokoto easily could turn into one of the most feared Tar Heels on the court next season.

He, as many of the other freshmen, have struggled in their few minutes on the court and made many freshmen mistakes. It’s just important to remember they are freshmen and have plenty of time to develop once he is given more playing time.
